High Blood Pressure Control

The following article discusses the relationship between high blood pressure and heart attacks and has some surprising statistics. And it talks about the need to make some simple life style changes to reduce high blood pressure.

To find out how you can reclaim your life with just a few minutes a day of quiet time, check out how meditation can make a huge difference to your health and happiness.

Understand The Causes Of High Blood Pressure And How Simple Lifestyle Changes Can Lower Your HPB.

It is a fact that 60% of heart attack victims do not have high blood pressure levels. If you have high blood pressure this could be seen as good news. But the news is not all good because 40% of heart attack victims do have elevated blood pressure levels.

This reveals that there is a link between high blood pressure and heart attacks.

People with hypertension are definitely in the high risk zone.

Many are under the false impression that treating the symptom called high blood pressure that they are solving the problem.

Remember that treating HBP is not getting to the cause of the problem. Taking pills (drugs) will lower your blood pressure levels but this does not get to the root of the problem.

What can you do to control your blood pressure without taking drugs? HBP is not caused by a drug deficiency, but rather it is a warning sign that something else is not right.

You can control your blood pressure naturally and at the same time be restoring the underlying causes back to health.

Firstly, if your blood pressure levels were high at the doctor’s office or clinic it does not follow that you have hypertension. This is commonly called "White Coat Hypertension" meaning that you are tense and apprehensive regarding the test. A fear factor. (See study by "Thomas G Pickering, 1994" – Google it just like that.)

Another common cause of elevated readings is an arm cuff that is too small.

Blood pressure should be monitored throughout the day for a period to determine if it stays elevated. One or two high readings can not be taken as definite indication.

There are many other causes of sustained elevated blood pressure. HBP is actually an inflammation problem.

Some causes are:
– High calcium blood levels
– Low vitamin D
– Calcification of arterial linings
– Magnesium deficiency
– High blood sugar
– Kidney disease

Lifestyle factors which can add to the risk:

– Abuse of alcohol or alcoholism
– Lack of exercise
– Obesity
– Poor diet
– Stress/Tension
– Lack of sunshine and fresh air
– Smoking

You can add to this list but no where will you find that a drug deficiency is ever the cause of high blood pressure.

If the cause was really a drug deficiency then why are people not healed from this condition by taking drugs? And, why are people still having heart attacks whilst taking this medication?

Does not make sense, does it?

We are actually dealing with core lifestyle health issues here. Sure, your medication may help to control blood pressure chemically but it is not addressing the cause. It is merely treating the symptom.

If you do have genuine HBP then you do need to work closely with your doctor.

But do you know that you can make lifestyle adjustments that can bring better results, without all the negative side effects of the medication.

It does not take a rocket scientist to examine the two lists above and come up with some simple answers. No! The second list results in the conditions of the first list which leads to high blood pressure.

So, you ask me, what is the answer to making a big start in reducing your blood pressure today?

Simple isn’t it?

Change the things in list two.

A word of warning here! DO NOT STOP your medication without consulting a health care professional. And, do not start any exercise routine with out discussing it with your doctor.

Discuss the issues raised in the two lists above with your doctor. If he/she is not willing to help you then find one that will work with you. It can be done.

Find someone who specializes in natural remedies and take their advice.

I write this from experience as a one time sufferer of high blood pressure. I am on a natural regime after stopping drugs and it works.

If you can understand why your body is not well you have the knowledge to work with nature to bring about natural healing. Drugs control the symptoms chemically. Lifestyle changes and a few natural supplements bring healing.
